Travel Fellowships
The Board of
Directors is pleased to announce the
recipients of the 2007 Kristeller-Popkin
Travel
Fellowships:
Peter Forshaw
(Birkbeck College, University of London)
Dr.
Forshaw received his Ph.D from Birkbeck College,
University of London in 2004. He will use the
fellowship to travel to libraries in Marburg,
Germany, where he will work on manuscripts
relating to the work of Heinrich Khunrath and
other manuscripts annotated by John Dee. This
work is part of a larger study of occult and
hermetic philosophy during the Renaissance.
Jeffrey
K.
McDonough (Harvard University)
Dr.
McDonough received his Ph.D from the
University of California, Irvine in 2004. He
will use his fellowship to work at Die
Leibniz-Foprschungstelle, in Münster, Germany,
where he will examine some of Leibniz's
unpublished works. His project is designed to
produce a book-length manuscript on Leibniz's
attempt to defend teleology and teleological
explanation in natural philosophy.
