Kristeller-Popkin Travel Fellowships

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2007 Kristeller-Popkin Travel Fellowships:

Peter Forshaw (Birkbeck College, University of London)

Dr. Forshaw received his Ph.D from Birkbeck College, University of London in 2004. He will use the fellowship to travel to libraries in Marburg, Germany, where he will work on manuscripts relating to the work of Heinrich Khunrath and other manuscripts annotated by John Dee. This work is part of a larger study of occult and hermetic philosophy during the Renaissance.

Jeffrey K. McDonough (Harvard University)

Dr. McDonough received his Ph.D from the University of California, Irvine in 2004. He will use his fellowship to work at Die Leibniz-Foprschungstelle, in Münster, Germany, where he will examine some of Leibniz's unpublished works. His project is designed to produce a book-length manuscript on Leibniz's attempt to defend teleology and teleological explanation in natural philosophy.
